Our 2023 theme of “Rooted in Community” perfectly encompasses your cultural immersion into Little Tokyo's community organizations, museums, history, and, of course, food and shopping! We want to continue the momentum from last year's theme, "Strengthening our Community Through Action."

• Welcome Reception at the Terasaki Budokan! 

• Youth Awards luncheon

• Sayonara Banquet at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center! with special guests to be announced!

• Celebrities Confirmed! Special events: David Ono's "Defining Courage" and Tamlyn Tomita led reading of "Question 27, Question 28" (more info coming soon)

• 20 + Workshops (in-person and some virtual) for both JACL and Community Members

• Mixers, Community Events, and Other Ways to be Engaged!

• National Council Session on Thursday, July 20

To keep all participants as safe as possible, we will follow last year's Covid precautions. All JACL Convention attendees are required to be up to date on their COVID-19 vaccine per the CDC’s definition of being fully vaccinated effective July 5, 2023. In addition, attendees are required to wear a mask indoors except when eating. Please see our COVID-19 Certification, Acknowledgement, and Liability Waiver for more details.
