The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights
JACL is a founding organization of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights established in 1950. JACL joined The Leadership Conference to get Congress to pass legislation that would protect the civil and human rights of all Americans. JACL and the Leadership Conference lobbied for and won the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1957, the Civil Rights Act of 1960, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and the Fair Housing Act of 1968. Today, the Leadership Conference has over 200 member organizations. JACL sits on the Board of Directors, and serves on the Membership Committee.
National Council of Asian Pacific Americans
JACL is a founding member of the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA) established in 1996. Based in Washington D.C., NCAPA serves to represent the interests of the greater Asian American (AA) and Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander communities (NHPI), and to provide a national voice for AA and NHPI issues. JACL sits on the Executive Committee for the 33-member coalition.

Asian Pacific American Media Coalition
JACL co-chairs the Asian Pacific American Media Coalition (APAMC) which has agreements with ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC committing them to work to increase diversity on-screen and behind the camera. APAMC meets annually with the heads of the networks to promote authentic portrayals of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
National Park Service Centennial Advisory Committee
JACL is one of 30 organizations appointed by the National Park Service (NPS) to the Centennial Advisory Committee. To help prepare for the 100th anniversary of the national park system, the National Park Service Centennial Advisory Committee was created by NPS. The purpose of the committee is to offer guidance and recommendations to the Advisory Board and the NPS on centennial strategies and products, and to serve as ambassadors to the broader community of NPS partners and stakeholders. The mission of the committee is to celebrate the success of the national park idea and its growing value to society; to spotlight the vital, supporting work of NPS partners; to enhance constituency support; and to advance strategic actions for ongoing sustainability.
Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Diabetes Coalition
JACL is a member of the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Diabetes Coalition (AANHPI-DC) which was established to advance the study and treatment of diabetes in AANHPI populations and communities in order to effectively prevent and treat this serious disease. The Diabetes Coalition brings together stakeholders, including physicians and other health care providers, health educators, researchers, community-based organizations, patient and consumer organizations, health departments, and the pharmaceutical industry. The Coalition increases awareness about the diabetes disparity in AANHPI populations and communities, and supports research on appropriate clinical and community interventions to effectively prevent and treat diabetes in AANHPI populations and communities. The Coalition advocates for more resources from government and the private sector to focus on diabetes in AANHPI populations and communities.
